How do you keep going?

I love sharing my knowledge and information! Whether people are interested in hearing or not it up to them, but I'm motivated to share and help the people who seek it =)

I got to say that after about half a year i'm starting to get a little unmotivated to do an episode of GrgakGames or anything for that matter.

It's not that I don't like doing it, if I didn't like it I wouldn't have made 26 episodes of just GrgakGames.

but a few reasons i'm just sort of out of it lately is

1. My laptop is old and can barely run my editing software (more my fault as I hate upgrading. Had this laptop now for about 9 years)

2. A lot of content uploaded every day on YouTube is utter garbage. Either it's let's plays or compilation videos that don't source the original creators.

3. YouTube creators are mostly scumbags who only talk to you so they can get their channels to grow

I'm not saying that all of these are always bad.

I've seen let's players even on here that have great channels and funny content but the majority is just disgusting. (Adding those generic intros, barely talking in the video, etc)

I have had people ask to collab with me without even knowing what I do. I don't hate collaborating, I actually did a small one a few weeks ago. BUT there are specific channels that are just horrible about this. (vloggers are the worst offenders, nobody even knows what I look like how would you vlog with me wtf)

Not to mention one person in particular a while ago messaged me over twitter asking to collab but around that time I couldn't really do much as I was sick so I had to decline.
and boy he god steemed, started calling me a commie and other things that I probably shouldn't talk about on here.

Maybe I just need a small break. I dunno.

How do you guys keep going? (No humble brags)

To be completely honest, taking a break may be the best thing. I took quite a long break, and I feel so much better. I focused on myself, and did what I could to just be happy. It was almost like I was trying to force the thing I love to do to ALWAYS make me happy, and it can't always do that. I needed that happiness in my life regardless if I was doing what I loved or not. Now with both worlds combined, I can honestly say I'm ready to give it another go, and not only help others grow; but grow myself as well.

No offence, but this seems to be such a gamer - specific thing. I've literally never seen anyone other than gaming channels doing sub 4 sub, that kind of thing. And gamers seem to get pretty aggressive when it comes to not playing ball. I mean that may just be my experience, but it seems to be skewed towards that kind of channel for sure.

Well yeah maybe some small gaming channels do that because they feel like they aren't growing so they would result in that. I have a gaming channel and I get alot of messages that say sub me and I will sub you.

Right, but I mean the whole mindset is different. Gaming channels, more than anyone else in my experience, feel like they're 'owed' success and that it's everyone else's fault for not watching. Maybe I've just been exposed to the bad eggs lol.

Yes, you have just been exposed to bad eggs. Like every form of content, there's good creators and bad creators. It depends on the person, not the niche.
