How do you keep going?

Im also in the boat with the other guy he said he likes your videos. I binge watched a solid 6 of them a few nights ago and have watched a few more since and loved them all

I'm really garbage about showing my appreciation but really, thank you! Glad you like the videos!

I expect a random comment from someone saying to get off the internet. Part of that is because someone left a comment saying "your videos always pop up before a video I actually want to watch. Kill yourself." Which is weird cuz I was running an ad, but how did the ad stalk him? And no other videos were running on any ads. Think he was blowing it out of proportion. But I mostly laughed it off. I expect something else like it though every time. Most of my stuff is random and a little unpolished currently (when it's scripted), so it gets some hate.

Sometimes we just need a little mental break from it all. Maybe it will help remember the real reason why you started YouTube in the first place. Best of wishes! I hope everything works out for you!

Oh my god I totally understand your feelings. Nobody really comments on my stuff unless they want to slowly grow their own channel, or something of the sort. I just want to meet cool creators with similar interests and likes to befriend. I also hate a majority of gaming channels because- as a gamer myself I'd rather play the game then watch it. This isn't always true though. Due to my extreme anxiety I can't play horror games, but I love them. I love the cryptic feeling and the dark atmosphere so I watch others play them. I CANNOT STAND the 1,000,000's of COD and BF play throughts. I'm not a big fps, unless it's multiplayer with someone I know, other than that, it has to have an intense story line for me. But ALL THESE PEOPLE MAKING MULTIPLAYER VIDEOS OH MY GOD. I don't want to watch 2 hours of you pointing your virtual gun at people and saying your mom jokes and basically being immature little uhg. I don't know the swearing rules for this forum so I'll keep myself PG.
I know the rut you're in. I'm in the same one. I'm at the point where I'm just loosing interest in youtube, because youtube is fading with inconsistent people and selfish people too. My main drive is that I'm doing what I love. If I get stuck in a rut- okay I'll let myself be stuck a little, I'll try to make short videos if any at all, then I come bouncing back as fast as I can. It's kind of like writters block. You just have to walk away and come back!

Looks like you need to take a step back and reflect on why you do YouTube. You'll either come back to it with a new found love or quit it altogether.

As far as the three reasons you listed:
1. My laptop is old and can barely run my editing software (more my fault as I hate upgrading. Had this laptop now for about 9 years)
You already mentioned it yourself... And the solution is simple (but expensive, I hate upgrading too due to that fact). Upgrade. If editing is a chore due to your PC locking up or performing slowly I can imagine developing a dislike for creating content. Editing is the most time consuming and also most dislikable part of the creative process for me. That is why I usually spread if across days. That way I am always at my best whilst editing and won't get to a point where I overload myself and have to take a few days off to decompress.
2. A lot of content uploaded every day on YouTube is utter garbage. Either it's let's plays or compilation videos that don't source the original creators.
Garbage... I see that word tossed around a lot. Lets call it something else. Lets call it content with minimal editing and as such pretty much unwatchable. Those types of creators are their own worst enemy. Everyone knows the reason why they are on YouTube (the age old Subs / Views / YTmoney thing). Everyone also knows they are the people moaning the loudest about bigger YouTubers getting everything whilst they are stuck on the bottom. A bottom they will never leave because they have one thing in common with the rest of the folk that upload similar videos. No passion for creating. Without passion, you won't get out of YouTube what you want out of it. With passion the numbers matter less, and people enjoy watching other people with passion for creating!
3. YouTube creators are mostly scumbags who only talk to you so they can get their channels to grow
No, just the ones described in the answer under your second question. My interactions with those types of creators usually goes as follows:

That content creator: "SUB 4 SUB BRO! Got to stick together, we are all in this thing together, lets help each other out bla bla bla sub me NOW"

Me: *deletes comment and go about my day, if YouTube hasn't filtered it in the spam box to begin with, YouTube is pretty good at that*

You really need to not let those types of creators get to you. Ignore them, focus on the content creators you DO want to be around and everything will be fine.

As mentioned at the beginning of this wad of text, just take a step back and relax for a bit. I am sure you'll be in better spirits after that!

You should watch VanossGaming. They're a bit immature, but it's in a surprisingly mature way. And everything the guy puts up is pretty well edited and polished. I get at least one good laugh out of each video.

One video at a time to be honest lol. Motivation when it comes to YouTube is literally like a roller coaster but you just gotta push through those times when you don't feel like doing anything because you know it's the right thing to do.

Also, if a lot of content is garbage then your stuff will stand out like no tomorrow so that's a positive thing for you. There are definitely people that will talk to just grow themselves but that's the way life is and humankind in itself, don't worry about them and do you. From reading the comments in here you got some people that really like your stuff man. The light at the end of the tunnel is close enough. You got this s**t.

Does anyone else take a week just to get 10 views for 1 video? Not sure what to do to promote (too lazy to start a new thread and I don't need that sweet, sweet YTTALK cash).

I find promoting on Reddit helps HEAPS, especially when you can get your video on a medium-popularity sub reddit and it stays on the front page for awhile. I'm not sure how this works though when it comes to gaming channels but from the general consensus on here, it seems to be pretty difficult promoting that stuff on Reddit.

I see you play a fair few Nintendo games, perhaps maybe a Nintendo subreddit may be of benefit to you. Or oldschool games, etc.
