REACT WORLD?

Their explanation of why they are trademarking the word "REACT" is kinda silly IMO. If someone was to trademark the word "REACT", would they have legal grounds to remove a YouTube channel with 14+ million subscribers prior to them receiving the trademark? And if they could, who's to say the Fine Bros. wouldn't do the same with the trademark under their belt?

Found a site where you can watch their subs decreasing live as people unsub, not sure if this is meant to be a joke or not, but it does seem to correspond with Social Blade...
By the looks of it, Fine Bros are going to go back to 13 million subscribers! Has this ever happen before?

What is the big deal with them licensing their brand? It's not like they're claiming ownership of every video that has a reaction, just a specific format for reaction videos. The revenue share and terms is debatable (endlessly no doubt), but I don't see what they're doing as inherently wrong. Maybe the steps they've taken has given them extra power they may abuse in the future, but that's something to get up in arms over if they do decide to abuse it.

They have big ambitions, it's ballsy to try what they are given that a negative reaction was inevitable (which puts their brand in jeopardy, at least for the short term). It's not something I would have done in their position, but as long as they act in good faith, good luck to them.

Ah, but that's the problem. They are claiming ownership of everything that remotely passes as a 'reaction video'. They're obviously not stating it, but their past actions, their past video claims and their registered trademarks all confirm what they are trying to do. There are loads of reaction videos that have been taken down by Fine Bros based on nothing more than 'it was a similar concept that was obviously stolen from us'. And if these trademarks go through uncontested, they will have all the legal backing to do this on a wide scale without having to worry about court cases.

I really liked the Fine Bros before this. I love me a good Youtubers React video every now and then, but this knocked them down a few pegs in my opinion of them.

The part that annoyed me the most is when they said "we hate people stealing our format".

Guys, all you do is react to other people's videos. Your format literally borrows other peoples work, how can you copy right something that doesn't even have original quality.

Just seems like a scheme to get more money by monopolizing on a concept, which to me is both greedy and downright dirty. I hope the backlash from this makes them change their minds.
