Audio Interface

So recently, I picked up an AT2020. I realize it's an XLR microphone, so I need to pick up an audio interface. Can anyone recommend one that would suit my commentary recording needs?

I'd recommend picking up a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, it has phantom power so it will power with your condenser microphone and I believe it can be had for about $150 on amazon probably cheaper if you get it used.

I just checked it out, and it doesn't seem like it has an XLR input. Is that just me, or what?

it does, it is a little odd looking compared to the one that I have, I found a video on YT showing your mic and this interface together but unfortunately I can't link it to you. Also will you be buying a pop filter to go with it?

I just checked it out, and it doesn't seem like it has an XLR input. Is that just me, or what?

You see the input next to Gain o1 and Gain o2? Those are both XLR inputs. The Focusrite also includes a stereo output for 1/4 jacks which are great for studio speakers if you ever get some of those.

You can also plug a headset straight into this and monitor your voice volume, which is a great feature to have.[DOUBLEPOST=1423446297][/DOUBLEPOST]However, If you're just going to be using this for a single microphone and possible a red and white audio output, you can always get the cheaper Focusrite Scarlett SOLO. Also a great XLR interface. A little confusing for what most novices would want to get out of an audio interface, but for the price learning what all the extra things do would be worth the £40 saving for most.

Sorry, I've been away at Uni. That does, in fact, look better because you get all the same inputs and outputs, but you get more control. Of course, it all depends on what you want it for. To just record the sound from 1 XLR microphone, you wouldn't need this.

Ok, I am just recording from 1 mic. But I also want to use the scarlett as a dac, would that work?
