It does initially seem strange that people would give up growing audiences but I guess the schedule of regular uploading, filming, editing and such can take its toll.
I get the feeling that some really big YouTubers kind of work on autopilot occasionally when they seem to have professional work but with such busy schedules and workloads, it's hardly surprising.
I guess it's sad when people give up on their channels but entertainment has always been like that - either people burn out, hit a block or just want to try their hand at something else. I think creative people are generally more willing to experiment and try new things.
