You can only blame a third party to an extent, after a while you should stop blaming others and either work around any changes or deal with it first hand and improve your content. Audiences die so quickly nowadays, people move around so much on YouTube.

Also, look at his most viewed videos, these kind of ones do nothing but gather views and dead subscribers:

He knows how the internet works, I'll give him that. What he does with those videos is the best way to make money on YouTube hands down.

It is worth noting that just because your views decreased doesn't mean total views decreased. YouTube certainly may be redirecting their featuring efforts towards genres and such that generally have higher CPM rates, but that's about it.

I watched the video. I watched some recent videos and looked at the views on his videos going back six months. His declining views isn't as precipitous as he states. You can go back 7 months ago and find 25K view videos.

Now as to his claim that views are not being counted, his YouTube views probably aren't credited as quickly as his website statics.

He may be blaming YouTube algorithms but I think it has more to do with his content.

Him asking viewers to LIKE that video, in my opinion, is a disingenuous way to get people to promote his channel.

I disagree that Facebook is getting 10X more value from advertisers. I would suspect that many of those are mis-clicks from scrolling through the feed.

Suggesting that Google drop CPM rates would be a disaster.

Suggesting that YouTube is not counting all of the views to appear to give better value to the advertiser and falsely create higher monetization percentages. I'm sure this would draw some criminal investigations for cooking the books.

Yeah it sucks about what happened to online poker in the US. I have a lot of American friends who were online poker pros who lost a lot of money when FullTiltPoker's assets were frozen. A lot of them ended up moving abroad to carry on playing. I believe it is coming back though (online poker) in some states (Nevada) and a few others?

Anyway that Athena guy used to be sponsored by Pokerstars and one of their perks was that they got 100% rakeback (ie any rake paid in cash games was reimbursed) So that clown had the bright idea of playing heads up with a friend and just passing money back and forward for hours on end on 10 tables at the same time. Just taking it in turns to win pots. So basically they were break-even, but with the rakeback, he was actually grinding out a tasty profit. So basically abusing his sponsor's goodwill in full view of everyone (Pokerstar's loyal customers who actually pay the rake) They eventually terminated his contract, but that's just one example of many of him always angle shooting something or other.

Yeah, he does, but there's always something in it for him. There's always an ulterior motive. I agree that the charities probably don't mind so long as they get $$ but I just don't like the way Athena conducts himself. I used to be a moderator of a poker forum and, after investigation, we eventually had to ban him for consistently spamming his charity events. That gives you an idea of the extent of the problem lol. He's a very smart guy, don't get me wrong. But too smart for his own good sometimes.

@CrownAcademyEnglish I would only play the Sit And Go's or the Tourney's. Never the cash tables. There's too much bum-hunting and collusion going on. Plus, everybody only plays premium hands. There's no enjoyment for the recreational players.

Pokerstars gave the US Government cash and penalties to cover players balances. Youre Pro friends should have received notices for their cash-outs a couple months ago.

Yes, some states have authorized online gambling but it is intra-state only. Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware.
That's a shame because the health of the game is reliant on a larger players pool. When/if California finally gets around to it, we would obviously have the largest player pool in the USA.

As for Athena scamming the rake-back, I'm not surprised. He seems to employ the same mentality to YouTube.
