I Love YTtalk
Ok so this has been bugging me for a while, we all want to optimize our Youtube channels, however I keep hearing different things from different people. Fact of the matter is, there are some Youtube algorythms which at least I'm not sure how works. So I'm gonna ask about a few of them on this post, and if it gets cleared up I will update the post for all of you.
First of all: Tag algorythms
Some people say the more the merrier, and that it doesn't always have to be relevant, but the more people search your tag the better. Some people believe that the more unique your tag is, and the more people search it the better.
And then there's the curveball, some people say that the less tags you have, the more specific Youtube will be about your content. For example if you have "gaming, ps3gaming, gtav, gta 5, funny, hilarious, commentary, funny moments, gta 5 funny" it's way too broad, and each individual keyword wouldn't mean as much. I'm curious to know if any of you are certaint about how tags work, and wht is best.
Second of all: Video ranking algorythms
What is it that ranks a video high, that makes it get promoted more by Youtube. Well personally audience retention and view to sub ratio has worked out way more than view to likes ratio, and like to dislike ratio. Generallt the videos with a lot of comments, and which are great gateway videos, also seem to do a lot better. But do any of you know what Youtube ACTUALLY looks at, and how much the things they look at matter.
You'll see someone like Pewdiepie be super big on Youtube, because his videos bring in a lot of subscribers, likes, favorites, comments, and continous viewerships. I don't personally watch his content, however that's exactly what the Youtube engine wants, which is why he is nr 1 at the moment
3rd and last of all: Search engine algorythms.
Many people on this forum claim that the search engine priotitizes like this: Title > Description > Tags, however do any of you have any proof of this? Because in my mind it's ridiculous that your description should be more relevant than your tags. Are you absolutely sure that's how it works, and if so which base are you making this claim on.
Also going back to my previous point, does it prioritize a couple relevant keywords, or just just a whole bunch of related keywords?
