Why Are the Top Youtube Stars so Popular?

I am not bashing people like Pewdiepie or TobyGames or iJustine. But the question is this:

Why is it that if I were to go out there and act like Pewdiepie that I wouldn't get over like he has?

What if a female from here, @Katherinejane001 or @CatsRants (not to put either one of you on the spot) for example, could make vlog videos about random dumb stuff? I mean they are attractive female youtubers, but for some reason people like ijustine and jennamarbles get over better. Why?

What makes these top people different then the million other people who have better content like half of the people on YTTalk?

Is it that Youtube gives them a push to the front page and that's why it gets so much attention. Most of their content is garbage compared to some. Who gives a s**t about them going to the grocery store!

Pretty much all of the top YouTubers have been doing it for years. They've built up a strong audience, and a big fan base.

It has nothing to do with their content, it's their personality. And, to be fair, they're original. If you go around acting like PewDiePie, well you're not going to get far. You're not unique or original, you're just copying him.

You also got to remember the videos that made them popular. iJustine for example got popular because one of her videos went viral, Jenna Marbles the same.

You know a lot of the girls I find hot look like guys and I mean that in the nicest way possible. Like I find girls with shorter hair and flat chests hotter then cheerleader types. Now with that said I'm not saying long hair is bad. But if I see a girl on youtube with her boobs hanging out and just doing it for the views then chances are I'll ignore for the most part. But if a girl is making good content even with big boobs but is not exploiting them I'll watch.

Okay. Here's the thing. I can get if they put out some magnificent magnum opus piece that was just the best thing ever. I can get with that. But why is it that they can now post anything and get the same response. That makes no logical sense. I've seen some youtuber's on this forum that have had videos that got 1 million views but have like 1k subs. I mean that makes no sense at all! The only guy on top that I think deserves it in all honesty is SMOSH just because his content is Unique, creative, and it takes skill on a technical standpoint with his camera angles, scripts, the sound production quality, and all of that. I just don't get it. There are people who have 3000 great quality videos but just never get that push.

Well first off, thanks for the compliments!!! But, I really don't have the looks lol......I am a terrible vlogger too And I know why my music isn't very big and why I'll never be a big Youtuber....and I'm okay with it I'm happy with the subs that I have now.
Anyways I understand why Jenna Marbles is so big. She's unique, she's funny, she's pretty..she's not afraid to do strange things/dress weird, and put herself out there. I don't watch many of her videos now, but I did a few years ago....and she always just seems to be herself. Natural, never forced. I believe that most of the top Youtubers share these qualities. They have good quality videos too...that always helps. They came out in a time where it was easier to get bigger on Youtube too. I've only watched a couple of Pewdie Pies videos (just to see what he was all about) and I kinda got it. I understood right away why people like him. I even laughed a couple of times.
