What computer / rig do YOU use for editing and rendering?

I'm working on a Windows 7 machine, running on an Intel i-5 4460 at 3,20GHz and 24GB RAM. Storage is done by a single 3TB HDD for video footage, a 1TB data/programs HDD and an SSD for Windows itself. The RAM especially makes editing very smooth. I can live with longer rendering times, but being able to just scroll through the timeline without running out of memory is a big plus.

24GB haha and I thought my 16 was going to be a lot. Well, I'm glad that it works well for you, seeing that we all edit videos[DOUBLEPOST=1445238684,1445235069][/DOUBLEPOST]
ROG Series or Custom build Strix Edition :D

I've heard those are good! Have you ever thought about building your own?

That's pretty good! How are your render times with the 4460?

Also, I heard that the 970 got rated 3.5/4, which is pretty good haha..

Wow! Impressive AND pricey. Plus points for the picture, too. How long did it take to amass this rig?

I got the case in 2012 when my computer broke and needed to build a new one. Since then most of the parts have been swapped out. I still have the same ram since maybe 2010. One of the monitors was an xmas present years ago, the other two were my brother's old ones that he just gave to me. They're pretty old, def need to replace em soon.

The Hard drives I've amassed over the years, the space keeps getting cheaper and cheaper, so when I'm running low on space I'll just buy a new hard drive. Got a couple of 2 terrabytes in, a 1 terrabyte, and a 4 terrabyte, an external 1 terrabyte and the 512 gig SSD

The Processor and motherboard I got last year when lightning struck outside my house and fried my mother board. So thats why thats newer. Luckily it was just my motherboard that was broken, but couldn't find a motherboard that would take the socket that my processor was in. So had to replace those two.

I also have a Logitech 510 gaming keyboard and an ROG rx2000 gaming mouse. And a Hyper X cloud II Headset. Bought in that order from various trips to microcenter.

The Professional camera was a graduation gift, where I got that a tripod, carrying case etc.

The video card I just replaced was the gtx 580, My parents got me a gtx 980 ti as a birthday present so I swapped that out.

The microphones, xlr cable, blackmagic capture card, also a ton of various cables (usb extenders, headphone extenders, lighting kit etc. Were all bought because I want to do a live podcast show. But right now am trying to gain a bit of an audience first.

I used to work in pro wrestling, so I have contacts in the business and can get some people with name recognition on the show to talk about various things. But doesn't make sense to start booking people without having an audience to broadcast to first.

Oh and on top of all that, also have a Macbook Pro that can handle video editing, just not that much hard drive space. Running 2 Virtual Machines, one windows and one linux... So can get the benefits of all Operating systems

But I almost forgot to include my most important item... the 19 micron head VHS player... need to convert some VHS tapes for someone.

My render times are pretty quick!
For example if I got a video of 10minutes the rendering takes 10minutes, or sometimes even less

I can't quite remember the specs.
But it's something like this:

16GB Ram
3.40gHz
i7-4xxx something or another
And other stuff XP

I just bought something that seemed good, I don't really know a lot about computer specs.

I'm currently working on a potato.

5-6 year old MacBook Pro,
2.55GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 gb Ram.

Because no usb3 slots transferring footage from camera takes hours.
Working in Premier drives me insane.

I just have to stick the potato out until December when I can finally get back on a decent pc again.
