What computer / rig do YOU use for editing and rendering?

I love hearing about all your builds. I'm making a video for a new Skylake build that I'm doing, for those of you who know about that![DOUBLEPOST=1445094220,1445051023][/DOUBLEPOST]
I got a custom rig that I built myself about three years ago... My screen is five years old though and is beginning to flicker so I'll need to replace that soon. I'd like to update, but it's hard to justify the cost.

A custom from three years ago should still be very suitable; though if your screen is that old, then you'd probably do well to replace it. What're your specs? (:

I used old Acer Laptop product 2011. Acer 4743G (1 times change HDD)

Sounds like a sweet deal. Has it been working without any hiccups?[DOUBLEPOST=1445104189,1445104140][/DOUBLEPOST]

Plus points for the actual image haha. Has it been serving you well? Or do you think it's time to upgrade ?
Upgrade to Asus maybe

What kind of Asus specifically?[DOUBLEPOST=1445106138,1445106106][/DOUBLEPOST]
It works pretty great, video previews can be laggy sometimes but so far I have never had any rendering problems etc
That's good to hear. I know a lot of people sport Macs; how old is yours?[DOUBLEPOST=1445106418][/DOUBLEPOST]

Now this.. This is specific. I appreciate effort it took to post all that but, man, that's a good rig. I'm looking to spend around 1500 for my skylake build and I recognize your parts. The case, especially is a nice touch.

I'm working on a Windows 7 machine, running on an Intel i-5 4460 at 3,20GHz and 24GB RAM. Storage is done by a single 3TB HDD for video footage, a 1TB data/programs HDD and an SSD for Windows itself. The RAM especially makes editing very smooth. I can live with longer rendering times, but being able to just scroll through the timeline without running out of memory is a big plus.

OS: Windows 7
Video Editor: Sony Vegas 10 Pro (old, but good)

i7 4790K @ 4Ghz
16Gb Ram
XFX Radeon R9 280 3Gb Dual Dissipation

It edits mighty fine! Still have an old 1680x1080 16:10 monitor though. I want to upgrade my video-card and get one of those dell 34" curved ultrawide screens... Great for editing, watching movies and gaming!
