What are some good ways to find good small channels?

YouTube itself isn't good for finding small YouTubers, and I think they need to work on that. I like browsing reddit.com/r/unknownvideos or reddit.com/r/newtubers. Yttalk is also a great place to find small channels!

I find it kind of funny that you have to go off YouTube to find new YouTubers. How Ironic lol. But yeah I normally post on Reddit, and I soon hope to post here once I get cash. Might just pay for it since it's $3. Another thing is majority of people who comment on my vids are smaller channels and I always click on their channel to check them out. I found a few friends like that.

Use other social media like Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr and search the tag small youtuber, I have found so many other creators doing that.

Oh and i forgot to say, if you have a specific need, you could just use the search function on youtube...mine may not look like yours because it is the beta for the new youtube but its the same system.

If you are using the search function posted above, just sort them by upload date. You will find a lot of small youtubers.

Honestly, this forum is perfect for finding small YouTubers. Just sweep through the video section and I'm sure you'll find something you like.

Yttalk is our new fav place for this. Been struggling to find a good way for ages.

Have also used Twitter, and although the majority of the time it has felt totally pointless, it has been worth it for the few gems we have connected with!

I love videos made by people like Tana Mongeau and Sarah Baska and wish I could subscribe to more channels like these but I'm really bad at discovering good small channels that post the kind of content that I'm looking for. Any tips?

No hate but could you explain what you like about Tana? The vids could be entertaining but it seems like she enhances every story to the point where it doesn't match reality even one bit...
