Hi guys, i have a brand new channel, only one month old, but is doing pretty good.
Already more than 13.000 subs and 6.000.000 views.
I use "copyrighted characters", but drawn and animated by me, everything from scratch.
I do not use stock or third party elements. Never had a copyright claim.

Lately, when i enable monetization the video falls under review. Till now, i just write how the video is made, the software used, links to license terms and monetization is approved fast.

But on my last video, they asked me to send additional proofs. I spent 2 days collecting all info, all licenses, everything. I sent a pdf with all info and and monetization was rejected automatically. I know was rejected automatically because i sent them 2 links of videos (unlisted on my channel) where i show how i make the videos, step by step, from scratch, and the videos have not views, so they did not check the info at all.

I am afraid if this start happening more frequently to my videos. So maybe i must look for a network with instant monetization. Thoughts?

BR!

You can look for one, yes. But unless you have documented commercial licensing permission from the publishers of the "copyrighted characters" you make videos after to use the character likenesses, the networks themselves will reject your application for membership, in spite of your size.

You mention licenses. I will look at your channel and see if what you are doing is actually covered and doesn't fall under the "non-authorized derivative works" copyright violation clause. Could you please go to your profile here, and place your channel in the signature link section as set up on the Forum?

Remember also that "permission to use", doesn't necessarily equal "permission to use commercially"; and this is what YouTube Admin is looking for.

I hope only the content is similar, because that channel is definitely into some shady stuff. 99% of the comments don't make any sense and are clearly written by bots, there are even videos that have almost identical number of views and same upvotes/downvotes, as well as comments lol. Can't link stuff here, but I'm surprised to see YouTube not reacting to most obvious botting cases, which makes me think they're OK with it for whatever reason?

It does look like botting but I don't think it actually is, many of these channels that deal with a demographic of young kids (think 3-7 years old, possibly some younger) will have those weird comments.

youtube.com/channel/UChGJGhZ9SOOHvBB0Y4DOO_w < This is the biggest channel on YouTube right now, 650M views a month with +200M views a month growth in the past 30 days, nearly twice as much views monthly as PewDiePie. Check out the comments on that channel, they are very similar, Not really good english and often very short or one word.

Ohh, sorry, yes i know what you mean. Anyway i prefer to keep my channel in private, everytime i share my channel on a forum or community my videos are cloned and i receive dislike bots. There are a lot of respectable users here like you, who give a lot of good advices and tips, but not everyone. I would send you a PM with the link if i could, but i need to reach 50 post first.

Yes, looks weird but i think is real. Young demographic, people who comment can be kids with their parent's mobile, just pressing keys and writing no sense comments.

What do you guys think about the content? I must say i do not use bots of any kind. Also i used adwords to give a push to my videos. My content is way better than this, maybe this is the problem, people can think i am using graphics from original creator.

Update: Talked with Miquos support. They loved my channel, so i think my content is safe. They offer 90% revshare and no lock-in, sounds very good. I am waiting for BBTV and Mitu offers too, let's see what they can offer.

I can confirm this, I manage a similar channel to the ones mentioned and

1) most of the comments you get are super-weird, my theory is that often the parents let their young kids just randomly press buttons on the keyboard while commenting

2) the comment/like/dislike/subscribe ratio compared to views is completely skewed compared to the other demographics, as the interactions are much less - you are lucky if you get more than 1 subscriber per 1k views

3) no matter how good your video is, the dislike bar will always be between half and one third of the total (so much that even the Peppa Pig Official Channel decided to turn off the like/dislike bar) - again, my take on this is that while most parents with their young children don't bother much to interact, if your average youtuber end up randomly on one of those kiddy videos they will dislike it mercilessly (sometimes even leaving hating comments containing profanities despite them knowing very young kids could read that)
