Thoughts On 'Celebrity' Accounts?

Now I'm primarily talking about the Vevo accounts here, what is your opinion and thought on them being more popular on YouTube than the accounts of those that work TREMENDOUSLY hard on producing amazing content?

Just a thought-provoking topic for those of the community ^-^

My personal opinion is that if they don't know the password of their profile, there shouldn't be a profile. (For example, I'm assuming that Vevo manages all the content on the RihannaVevo, and that she should manage it herself for it to be a profile.)

Are you implying that they don't put effort into their content?

I'm implying they have record companies that produce and direct their content, and a large majority of which don't even write their own lyrics and songs anymore.
Of course they have some kind of talent evidently, but from where I stand, there are more deserving members of the YouTube community.

smosh get loads of help with everything. I'm pretty sure they get the same amounts has help as the vevo people.

Even so, that's due to them working for it via the YouTube community, they started from the bottom much like most of us on this site currently, they got a lucky break and just continued and expanded with it...
My main point of this was it's slightly unfair for mainstream artists to gather huge amounts of subs in a short amount of time due to their record labels and whatever when there are those working towards the top.

all people start of from nothing. It was probably hard for those people to be found by the record companies. Everyone who does get big on youtube 'gets lucky' too.

Well yeah, they're rich and popular. If you were rich and a celebrity with opportunities at your doorstep, you wouldn't take them? Of course there are more deserving members of the YT community. These people are already at the top** worldwide, it's only normal for it to show on YT. Fair or not ? Can't say but it's how things work.

Vevo's a different beast, because most of its content is music, and so a vid may be replayed dozens of times by a single person, supercharging the view count.

As for subs - it's not at all like there's a finite amount in existence. Celeb accounts don't take subs from smaller channels. And if there weren't an official account, these celebs and record companies would be losing millions of dollars in revenue as pirates post unofficial rips of the music video.

I like them being on youtube personally. I don't watch a lot of TV and do people really watch music videos on MTV and whatnot anymore? It's the only place I see new music videos.

One of my favorite things is seeing celebrities with separate channels that are obviously edited by themselves. They just want to share more of their lives like other vloggers/musicians do. Sometimes famous singers post covers of other artists and I ADORE that concept. Personally, I love it.
