Thoughts On 'Celebrity' Accounts?

SherlockBoi

Holy King of Waffles.
Now I'm primarily talking about the Vevo accounts here, what is your opinion and thought on them being more popular on YouTube than the accounts of those that work TREMENDOUSLY hard on producing amazing content?

Just a thought-provoking topic for those of the community ^-^

My personal opinion is that if they don't know the password of their profile, there shouldn't be a profile. (For example, I'm assuming that Vevo manages all the content on the RihannaVevo, and that she should manage it herself for it to be a profile.)

You can't really compare. VEVO pay thousands if not millions for advertising for the artists and their channels. The fame of their artists is what advertises them primarily.

What you should be asking really is about the famous YouTubers rather than celeb channels. They are the ones who draw in the mystery of their fame etc :)

I think that on those channels, you shouldn't have the option to subscribe. They don't churn out enough videos to warrant an actual subscription. Yet people subscribe and they have a ridiculous amount of subs.

I don't see the big deal.. If they can't have youtube accounts, they shouldn't be allowed to have a Facebook page, or a Twitter page, Instagram, Tumblr, etc.

Who cares if they have a youtube. Are they hurting your chances of becoming big? No. Are they stopping you from making videos? no. Let them be. Everyone is allowed to have a channel.

It doesn't effect me in any way what-so-ever, I mainly brought it up as I am sure you're aware of the whole 'top 100 list' in regards to subscribers, it's just sad to see some of my favourite YouTubers being unable to reach that amazing milestone due to these channels.

But those channels have nothing to do with other channels not reaching those milestones.

Did you not read what I typed...? They are unable to because these slots are taken due to these channels, this isn't in regards to subscriber amount, this is in regard to there being a certain number of slots within the 'top 100'... So due to those channels, they cannot get into it.

Nearly every big YouTuber I know track their milestones by subscriber count and not by subscriber rank. When you see their announcements on social media, they celebrate 1 million subs, not being #404 on the top subscribed list.

If you want to be p****d at VEVO for something, be p****d that they have a better deal with YouTube than the rest of us-so their artists don't have to pay out 45% of their earnings.

Fair enough I guess, but as I stated, this is just a personal opinion anyway ^-^
