Telling Friends, Good or Bad?

Is telling friends about your Youtube channel a good thing or band things?

My friends are the first people I tell when uploading a new video. They enjoy watching it and my videos become kind of inside jokes we throw around when we are bored in the classroom, we've actually shot a video in my math class (while the teacher was teaching). But sometimes the wrong people watch my videos and I get teased a bit, but it's all alright if you like the work you put out there and find freedom with your own creativity
 
I think there is a difference between teasing and really making fun of something. My friends tease me for my videos/quote little things I say/etc. but they are very supportive. At the end of the day, anyone who isn't supportive of something you love to do (that is fun and healthy and good for you!) maybe isn't really a good friend?
 
If you can't show your videos to your friends because you think it will not be good enough for them, then how could you believe that these videos will be great for stranger !

You don't want to be tease ? Make GREAT videos and nobodies will make fun of you !
If the video is good they will talk about it not about you !
 
Just tell them. Friends are the best way of getting your videos out there. You run the risk of anyone being able to find you by publicly posting videos in the internet anywa.
 
In my experience, I have found it to be a very good thing, as my friends encourage me and support me on and they can also request games they want to see which in turn makes them recommend to their friends etc etc
 
I feel like it was both because my friends found my videos good so that was a thumbs up haha but sometimes they play my videos in class and it's just annoying at times but otherwise it's fine ;D
 
If your friends make fun of you and insult you because of your youtube channel, they really aren't your friends in the first place.
 
I struggle with this. I was more transparent at first with my family and friends but I found that most just didnt understand and I was just starting so I wanted to find my voice. I created a new channel, I'm keeping it close to my chest for now and I'll just see where it goes. I'm not in school anymore so i can not comment on that.
