I think this happens to a lot of us. It's just a normal thing for us to do. I'm sure even those with 100k say this about someone with 1M too.
Ughhhh I'm so guilty of this. Sometimes I'll watch someone who has 100K + subscribers and think, "Why do you have so many subscribers and I don't? I make similar content to you." or "My videos are at least as good as these... why don't I get the views that they do?"
hahaha petty first world problem!
Do you do this?

Time for the most honest answer in the thread. The reason is because your (any person saying it, not you particularly) videos very likely are not at least as good as the videos on the channel with tons of subs. They probably are a fair measure worse in some cases much worse and for a variety of reasons of which the person complaining is blissfully unaware. The truth is that many of us tend to grossly overvalue our own work (very similarly to how we grossly overvalue certain traits in our children...cuteness...intelligence...comedic value, etc. A person's child is always funnier/smarter/cuter to them than to others observing from the outside). Our youtube channels are like children to us on some level. We've put hard work into them and we our proud of them, so we tend to lose objectivity when assessing the entertainment value of them. Comedians will tell you that they don't know what jokes will hit and what ones will miss. This is because they think that all their jokes are funny...they overvalue their work."My videos are at least as good as these... why don't I get the views that they do?"
