STOP Being Melodramatic... [Serious]

One Idea I think YouTube should look into is the Rewind... I mean every year it is people with big a**e channels.. Maybe Next year they go through find channels that are under 100,000 subs or even under 50,000 that are good quality and entertaining and feature them as up and comers.. Growing the smaller channels will only help YouTube Grow.
The Rewind is to look back at all the big things that happened on YouTube that year. Focusing on smaller channels defeats the purpose, as they didn't do anything "big".

Personally I don't think that YouTube should help out/promote smaller YouTubers more than they do now. People need to work for success, not rely on other people helping them out. Work hard, and it will work out for you eventually. Majority of the big YouTubers have been creating content for years before they got big. It shouldn't be easy to become something on YouTube.

Half the threads are about how YouTube is dying, falling apart, ruined, how much it sucks, etc. Seriously, cut the crap. YouTube isn't going anywhere, but if you can't adapt to minor changes then YOU'RE the one that is going to give up and blame YouTube for your failure.

"Google Ruined YouTube": No it didn't, it made YouTube the the second largest search engine in the world behind Google itself. YouTube was bought by Google way before most of you even made videos. A billion unique visitors a month? 1/7th of the world population visits YouTube every month and you say it's ruined?

"This Change will Ruin YouTube": No it won't, it just means you have to adjust how you do a few things. Do you know what happens to businesses that don't adapt? They fail and blame everyone but themselves.

"YouTube doesn't care about small channels": Maybe it's because 99% of small channels really aren't doing anything different than everyone else and blame YouTube when no one watches their videos instead of the big channels that make unique, higher quality, and more interesting videos. If you were making unique, high quality, and very interesting videos, you wouldn't be a small channel - that I can guarantee. Be the 1%, I know you know how.

yes... Yes... YES!!!! This is perfect, Thank you!

@symphonious7 i have to agree with you, the last one is kind of off base but it does hold true to most of the unpopular channels, why do i say this? Because people who already have a fan base can post themselves using the bathroom and get a lot of views and their fans e.i the unpopular set, will see this and go "I can do that to and get views", which leads to a downward spiral and everyone doing the harlem shake(content ID must have blown those videos up with a tanker or something by now)...yea i said it lol.
yeah the copy cat thing really lowers some of the fun factor. But whether or not the small channels are doing their job I do not feel like all the large channels are doing a great job either. Some like say Wheezy Waiter are probably still making good content, but alot of them aren't any more interesting than the smaller channels and some have really lost their touch in general.

I am looking at it from a Business perspective. As I have run one before.. you see the newer or smaller employees and you see the ones that have potential and invest in them.. You build them up because if they improve your whole company improves. I am not saying every small channel but the channels that really are working hard and doing the best with what they have. I never said a free ride for all. For instance this fan finder BS is silly and useless. Do something real, a contest something.

@symphonious7 um, to be completely honest with you, i watch wheezywaiter because i like him as a person and previous videos, not because he puts out "Good" content, its mainly the same video style over and over, its just his charisma is what sells each and every one. Fan base is everything as far as i know.

While I like this idea in theory, we're not talking about a company of 100 people with 10 at the top and 90 to go through, we're talking about a company of millions upon millions of people. Who's gonna go through that list to find the potential stars, and how? Cause lets face it, the percentage of amazing undiscovered talents to just same old crap is highly in favor of the crap.[DOUBLEPOST=1386959990,1386959957][/DOUBLEPOST]
