Spammy comments... opinions?

Have you ever used this 'technique' and has it worked?

I honestly hate and despise seeing such comments. Think of it this way. Say "popular YouTuber" posted videos for 3 years. Well in the last year of those 3 his channel has started its' uprising in popularity. He worked long and hard for 3 years for such a vast reward. Then you have a random guy comment on "popular YouTuber's" channel with the complete intention of,"Come subscribe to me!". The random guy is basically leeching subscribers from a guy who hard earned them for 3 years. To add with that, "popular YouTuber" didn't give anyone permission to advertise in the comment section. Of course, he didn't say they can't either. They still need direct permission though. In reality it is morally wrong. A good example would be a blacksmith wanted to craft a unique and special sword. He goes on a quest to find an uncommon material to make the blade or merge with the steel to make the blade. He does all this exploring and finds that perfect material. Well, a guy has been following him and took all the material that was left and sold those swords, leaving the main blacksmith's sword not to be unique, and stolen his work basically. Anyway, I should stop typing. That was just my opinion though!

I see people do it and it annoys me so much .-.
On another forum this guy was bragging about how he got 5 subs from using spammy comments on a few Pewdiepie videos and the reaction on their was very hostile towards him, which I liked because I hate people who do it :L

Trust me it works....People say that it is a bad way of getting publicity, but that being said most successful people in the world annoyed the f**k out of people to get where they are today. Guns n Roses used to put fliers everwhere to promote their old stuff. Putting it into peoples shopping bags, window wipers letter boxes and everything....But eventually it was forgotten, and nobody cared because they deserved to make it :)

If you're not willing to do it on Facebook with people that actually know you then it's probably not something you should do in general :)
