I've Got It
Ok so I'm not 100% sure where to post this thread so sorry about that, but I was just wondering what you all think of people who post those 'check me out' comments on every popular video or who just comment on everything for channel attention?
Personally I think they're annoying, but I have witnessed them working. From what I've seen channels really do grow and gain viewers - which is annoying to say the least, because if it does work (as it appears to be) then people will just keep on doing it *sigh*

It would work
But in the long run it would be bad for you
These certain you tubers who copy and paste everywhere get known for spam comments
Which can be a bad name and also people may not want to collab with them then
Also if the oportunity came along to work with a BIG youtuber they wont want to since your the persaon who just spam comment all their videos

It does work, but it makes me want to slap the living s**t out of the people who do it.
I'm with this fella, i'm sure it works, in fact it must work! but i feel like its really low and desperate!

and when i see other people doin it (and even worse, succeeding) its like:

Sure, it may work, but I would suggest against it.

And if you do use this technique, please don't create fake accounts to thumb it up, and leave comments to try and make it look real. I've even seen people leave comments on a bunch of videos, and the same person responds with something like "Wow! Your videos are amazing! I subscribed!". SAME FREAKIN' ACCOUNT OMG.

As far as I know it's against YouTube's Terms of Service so it could get you in trouble.

I've never discovered anything worthwhile through those spam messages. I'm guessing they might get a few views but nothing to make a career out of.

Yes it definitely does work, but like the others said spam comments are just the worst crap to look at, especially when it's on your own channel. I must confess I did a little bit of spamming around in my early days to get subscribers/views etc. and it did work. But in the long run it's really not what you want. Being known as 'that spammer guy' is not good for your channel at all, and it would definitely ruin collabs in the future.
