Serious discussion with Intense Hydra. Doing youtube for the money vs doing it as a hobby.

The most intense youtuber ever! xD
so i want to know all of you opinions on this topic there is always loads of debate about how people who do it for the money are horrible people.

I for one do it for fun it's my hobby but what people forget is youtube is also a business so it is ok for someone to want to try and earn money from it.

what are your thoughts?

If you ONLY do youtube for money, then you usually get hated on, but no one really comes out to say they only do it for money. Youtube usually starts out as a hobby, and when you start getting around 10k views a day, then it starts becoming more of a job.

I don`t like it when people join JUST for the money, as it usually means they`re not as enjoyable to watch because they don`t want to be doing it, but of course if its a hobby and you see you can make money, why not :)

If you make your living off YouTube, then there's nothing wrong with that, and it's a shame that people are made to feel bad if they rake in loads of cash. But I also think it's important to remember the people who are effectively paying your wages: your viewers. If it wasn't for them, there'd be no money. It's very important to remember that.

I feel like some of the bigger YouTubers (like the 1m subs+ people) just see their mass crowds as yummy revenue, even if they don't say it, due to the low interaction with their fans/viewers and the constant pushing of merchandise and whatnot.

I would like to earn money from YouTube, and quit my rubbish 9-5 slog that I don't much care for. If I could do that, fantastic. But I'd still enjoy it, and I'd still post here, and I'd still reply to comments. I mean why not right? I'm nobody special I'm just a person making videos.

exactly i don't like when they get big and immediately think they are too good to interact with their subs.

/offtopic I also must say I really dislike how bigheaded some of them come across. Yeah, they have lots of subs and a whole mess of views (and money), but they're not famous. Speak to anyone who isn't a YouTuber and you'll get a big fat 'who?' when you mention their name. I can't see it happening, but if I ever got REALLY big on YouTube, I'd never ever be like that. I don't even feel comfortable with the idea of selling t-shirts with my name on it!
