PewDiePie Has Turned Off Comments FOREVER!

I think it's going to hurt his channel in the long run, but he has legions of fans who will stay and comment through other means. This is more of an indictment on YouTube than anything, that comment sections can get so out of control. But, it's his channel, his decision.

Remember how I said it might finally encourage YouTube to do something about it? Pewds recent tweet: "I'm speaking with YouTube today and they seem keen to improve the comments. I have my notes, but if you have suggestions feel free to @ me." https://twitter.com/pewdiepie/status/507501360057942016 I'm not sure that anything will get done, but this is a good sign and we can only hope they implement better management options and include options to allow others to help. But don't get the hopes too high lol

Theres a simple solution for this problem:D

YouTube should give Creators an option to filter comments that have links in them to other websites or even YouTube Videos! :smug:

Then YouTube should allow Creators an option to setup a Swear words filter (even the worst chatrooms have it) :eeks:

I am sure people like Pewdie pie, would allow comments then.....:bounce:
I am pretty sure Disabling comments can harm a channel potentially.......
People join these big channels to be part of a big , lively community! Chat, interact with the creator! :)
Disabling comments makes the community dead!:nailbiting2:

Theres another possibility , that Pewdiepie is doing this to protest against YouTube?
So that Youtube may setup these options?
I am pretty sure disabling comments will harm his channel, but swear words and links to viruses used to harm his channel too.......

In the long run, i dont think he should disable comments
But its his channel, His rules :D

oh.................................................why would he deactivate comments then? :hungover2:
Its a mystery now!!:nailbiting2: Because of the virus links?
I think he was also really sick of people self-promoting in his comments. Comments weren't showing support for him as much anymore. Moral: don't use big channels to blatantly promote your own.

While I don't support his decision, it is his channel after all. I just hope he doesn't find a huge mass exodus of subs for it because he's pretty damn entertaining to me. I'd never turn off comments personally, even if I was a big Tuber. I love my fans and will do anything to keep them around. I love my haters too because they motivate me to keep going and push my success right in their faces.

I personally couldn't care about PewDiePie - he can print money with any old video he puts out. Why would he still be interested in networking with his idiot followers?

Doubt a geeky swedish kid ever imagined he'd spawn as many hateful supporters as he has. And before anyone starts, I do know some decent fans of his as well..:)

I think if you have as many comments as he does you should turn it off because it will just get you down other wise good post
