Nervous when recording?

I noticed over time talking in the mic gets generally easier. Just keep doing it, eventually the nervousness should wear down, and it should feel more natural. :)

Good advice here. The more you do, the more comfortable you'll become and subsiquently the less nervous you'll be. I was horribly nervous for my first video, much less so now.

For me I had the same problem at the begining, but as time progressed I got more comfortable in front if camera.
With previous projects I've tried script but it never worked out and now I just go along with it :)

I suggest using a mic that is part of a headset of big headphones that block other noise so you only think about the game. That way you don't focus on the fact that people are going to be listening to what you're saying.

The best way for me to do things is to do it while playing the game and just going for it. If I don't like a certain bit I'll just take it out unless it's too much of a large chunk of the video in which case I'll just edit it down to keep the key elements of that piece. I've onyl ever had to create a script for things where I'm preparing in advance, which I never do because I'm a man XD

Haha,

I need some advice - maybe I should do some scripts?
But currently I talk during mid game play, I try to talk -
kind of nervous lol.

Not sure what to think, 1st time doing this.
Well tbh we've all been at this stage before. My only advice is to keep trying! Crack some jokes, even stupid ones, have a laugh, enjoy yourself, because if your having fun chances are so is your audience. Having fun and laughing can boost your confidence a lot and viewers love a youtuber who has confidence (without being cocky) :) Good luck with your channel! :D

Look at it this way, if it sucks you're the only one who's going to hear/see it :p When I first started I was a little nervous as I wasn't sure what I was going to say during gameplay so that's the mind set I took on to get over it.

But it definitely gets easier over time, I've even found myself talking aloud when I'm on my own which just shows I'm getting comfortable voicing my thoughts.

So just talk to yourself while doing general day to day stuff, it sounds like something a crazy person does but just simple things like, "Where's that gone?" "What the hell should I do about this?!" "Aaargh, I don't wanna tidy the house!", helps a lot. If you're recording something where you can't have a script like lets plays you just need to get used to speaking your mind.

People will only see what you show them so just roll with it :)

Well when I am playing with my friends during live recording, I am not that Nervous but when I am doing my First commentary, I did alittle pointer script for my intro. But I guess when you do more of individual recording, you will get used to it

I suppose if you're trying to be informative about the game you're playing you NEED to prepare some kind of notes and structure.

If it's spontaneity you're going for ie. Recording your reactions or giving your thoughts as you experience a game for the first time, then that's something you develop over time.

Just look at the big youtubers first bunch of videos, most of those guys were pretty bad at it back in their day.
