Nervous when recording?

Haha,

I need some advice - maybe I should do some scripts?
But currently I talk during mid game play, I try to talk -
kind of nervous lol.

Not sure what to think, 1st time doing this.

Well I'm not really into the territory of commentating (since I draw instead) but yeah at times I do get nervous while holding the pen because I don't want to make mistakes. But if I was to try to give some advice it might be something like this; Do a script if you truly think you need one. But before you record, know how you're going to start out ,(ie; Hey guys, it's __). And to maybe stay consistent while commentating just try talking about something relevant in the game; like how you usually fight with this certain character or what you like/dislike about his stage, etc.
Then again at times some games get really intense that you have to focus so...just gives a heads up if you feel like you need that silent focus?

I dunno- again I'm probably not the best to ask for advice when it comes to commentating but those are just some ideas about how you may get better at talking during recordings. Hopefully I helped.

I understand how that is, I'm still trying to get through it myself.
I'm attempting to work with other gamers to help get over my
nervousness until I can get a handle on it myself.

I noticed over time talking in the mic gets generally easier. Just keep doing it, eventually the nervousness should wear down, and it should feel more natural. :)

If you're doing a commentary while playing you can't really make much use out of a script, and that works better with a review/podcast type of content.

But like said overtime it'll get easier. Most of us have been there anyhow.

That was me for so long xD
After a while though talking to a computer, camera lens, etc. just becomes second nature and you will find it easier to be "you" while recording :)

I talk to my friends just find but as I recording gameplay
for my 1st video with my voice over - it was kinda silent lol.

Not everyone is really cut out for live commentary, so if you start to feel that your videos are empty and/or do just not shine with the commentary then it's better idea to look into other options: nobody want's to watch a commentary that just isn't there, and working with something like that is not very much fun for yourself either.

No pain no gain! I'll just have to practice by doing it lol.

Just do your best! not many people are natural at commentary from the get go.
It takes practice just like any other skill. Just be energetic and give it your all!
The only thing you have to worry about at the end of it is if your happy with
how it turns out!
