My Google+ strategy

Well if there isn't a G+ Community for the game I want to make content for, I could just make it and market the heck out of it to help drive traffic to it. That's always a possibility. If fact I probably will end up doing just that. :)

Google+ is probably one of the most under utilized social media platforms that YouTubers use (we all have a G+ Profile so everyone has one just not everyone uses it). Plus it looks good to YouTube if you're using their platforms in combination with one another. So I don't know why more YouTubers aren't jumping on board with it since it's really user friendly and very clean looking. It isn't cluttered like Facebook is.
I agree actually, Google+ is great. I always end up liking and sharing a bunch of stuff when I am on there to share my own. I especially like it because it isn't as personal as facebook so you can add people you don't know and not worry about creeps :p

Oh definitely man!

I am going to be testing out Google+ Circles as a marketing strategy. Upload a video and then share it on G+ and tag the necessary and relevant circles to that video. :)

Hopefully it brings in some great traffic.

Some quick info on Circles. You can have 5000 people (or profiles I guess) in a Circle and only add up to 50 a day. I think that limit goes up from 50 when more and more people add you back. I haven't gotten to that point yet but I'll try to so I can grow as fast as possible. It's kind of like building a mailing list of sorts but without spamming someone's inbox. They do get a notification on Google platforms and on YouTube, so that's a huge benefit.

So definitely an under utilized social media platform. I think so many people that looked at it thought that it was just Google trying to make their own Facebook. Honestly the two platforms are so different that they can exist side by side. They offer different things and the majority of the people who hated on Google+ aren't even content creators. hahaha

Google+ is the future we might as well adapt or get lost in the dust.[DOUBLEPOST=1437841674,1437841581][/DOUBLEPOST]Google+ is the future we might as well adapt or get lost in the dust.

My experiences with sharing videos on G+ is that it works very well - much better than Facebook as far as I am concerned.

One odd thing though is that your own comment when sharing the video on G+ ('Made a new video of xxx....') is counted on Youtube (in the stats) as a comment on that video each time you share it. The same applies to 'likes' in G+. This freaked me out somewhat, and I hope this isn't something that ends up harming me in the form of a 'you comment on your own videos to boost them'-strike or something like that from Youtube.

Imagine my joy, surprise and disappointment when I saw from the stats that one of my videos suddenly had 3 comments and 8 likes but found out that none of them are actually visible on Youtube - they all clearly came from activity on G+ where I had shared it in 3 groups and gotten some likes (but no extra comments) from that.

In total though, this very likely shows that G+ activity is something that in considered important by Youtube/Google, and might help the ranking of a video.

The only problem with google plus communities is the fact that it posts that you shared it in your youtube comments. Now imagine if you posted to 100 communities? You essentially looding your comments section with posts that don't count

That is why I alternate communities. I share every new video to 1 community in my list.

I agree - it really messes up the comment field and looks weird. Espeically if you (like me) have very few comments from other people.

The upcoming separation of G+ and Youtube will hopefully fix this unfortunate 'direct link' between the two.
