Monetization Issue

Submit additional info, otherwise the video(s) will be disabled for monetization permanently.

How? It doesn't give me an option to attach info - all it says is they will email me. When I tried that for my SimCity videos, they never emailed me at all - they just disabled monetization without giving me a chance to provide proof that EA was ok with monetizing those videos.

gisikw do you have any insights into this?

If they didn't email you then you can provide additional information about your video(s) by visiting this link:

https://support.google.com/youtube/bin/request.py?video_id=VIDEOIDHERE&contact_type=revenue_share&hl=en-GB

Replace VIDEOIDHERE with your video ID. And, their policy is to disable monetization if you do not provide additional info within 14 days from the date they asked for it.

Alright so I managed to provide proof for my vlog and the WoW gameplay (those have easy to find online licenses and/or video sharing and monetization policies). However, how would I go about doing that for the retro game I posted (TI Invaders from Texas Instruments). Their gaming division is long defunct, and they no longer make games, much less home computers / PCs. The games I have are all from the late 70s, early 80s. I wouldn't expect to have an issue with monetization, but not sure how to provide proof to monetize since they are questioning it now.

A lot of people having this issue. Looks like Google disabled auto-monetize system and now every vid goes into manual review. Before that any vid monetized instantly (without copyrighted music) and in rare occasions they gone under review, that's when youtube robots detect too much similarities with other uploaded videos.
In other words - monetization is pretty much fu*ked up now.

I agree its messed up right now but there is no way its under manual review, they simply changed their algorithms and now those algorithms take into account non relevant variables that cause grief on our videos. The only videos that are manually reviewed are those which have been flagged, or those where you submitted more proof for monetization.

Do you have any idea how to provide proof (if possible) for my retro gaming video? I can't imagine Texas Instruments having an issue with their old games getting monetized.

Honestly any time i tried providing proof to my gaming commentaries none of it was accepted, i doubt TI cares about monetization, so another trick i found is that if you delete the original video and then re-upload, it usually monetizes it the second time, but like you said you have to wait until it is completely done processing and you have the option to choose different thumbnails.

Well I just had to provide proof for one of my vlogs ... I hope it gets accepted!

Yeah a friend of mine also tried submitting proof and it never worked. Before July 2013 reuploading vid / deleting everything from title and description worked at least. Now it's totally weird.
Need more opinions from people using monetization. Maybe there is a new trick to bypass the system.

The only other thing i can suggest and im not sure if this is unique case or it will work for all videos but i monetized my video without True View or Instream selected, basically did blank monetization, and once it monetized i just enabled True View and Instream ads in the options and now my video is monetized.
