image QUALITY!!? :$

Can somebody help me improve this image quality problem (SEE ATTACHED)?

I've spent at least 100 HOURS researching solutions and trying different ideas..
to no avail.. I'm sure the answer is dead simple, as always..
I'd be forever grateful for any help!!

(fyi, my video is a 9 min slideshow made of JPEGS)
 
Why are you using JPEG and not PNG?[DOUBLEPOST=1396895386,1396895339][/DOUBLEPOST]Not to mention that even the bit that was in Photoshop wasn't even all that legible.

..I think the Photoshop bit looks okay if you enlarge the image.. but I did scale down the quality of the image
a tad before posting it to this forum.. I wasn't sure if there were upload size limits here..

I haven't tried using PNG yet.. Would that be a more appropriate file type for this circumstance?

Hi, thanks for the reply!!

I have experimented around with fonts and resolutions.. not much luck tho.. the yellows and grays are washed out, but they remain decently sharp.. For some reason, tho, the reds and the gradients get banded and smeared..
Unless my software is somehow outdated.. this doesn't seem like an acceptable compromise for 2014..

Also, the thumbnail that pops up after I upload to Youtube looks even more bizarre.. with extreme distortions in the colors/gradients.. I'm not sure what that means..

I am using Photoshop CC and Final Cut 7.. do you think this might have something to do with my issue..?

That thumbnail is really weird. Just out of curiosity what filetype is your video? And also, are you getting the same graphical issues with the video before uploading it to youtube?
 
Hey that would be great! How do I package my final cut project (including all the media/audio files within it) into a single folder (which I would send to you)?

the movie is just a standard H264 quicktime "compressed for youtube" movie, as best i can tell.. i think the pic in my initial post still best displays the gradual warp in image quality.. but nothing looks nearly as bizarre as that final youtube thumbnail..
