I hate it....

Yeah I see it a lot, there's no need really but people like that aren't on sites/forums like this and haven't done their research on the right ways to promote

I've always disliked outright obvious self promotion or 'Wanna be youtube friends? Sub for sub!!!'
Although, I do occasionally mention if i've done a video of the same topic on a video.. For example, If someone spoke about glasses in a video i would say something like 'Haha, Oh god, I posted a video a while back about glasses but this has given me so much inspiration to do another, This is great! good job!' or.. Something along those lines..
Is that bad, or?

Nah that's acceptable, you aren't literally demanding people check out your channel :)

I honestly can't stand it to be honest. I just find it funny when I see channels that spam & have like 1-5k subs, less views overall, less average views per video and a lot more dislikes than I have. Makes me feel like I'm doing something right if I'm honest :)

Also I saw a comment I thought was brilliant today. Someone wrote under someone who had posted an advertising comment and said "If you owned a restaurant you wouldn't advertise it in somebody else's restaurant!". I thought that was golden :p

It irritates me somewhat, although when I see such comments I get the impression that they mean well; they're just not aware that there are better ways to promote their work. I can't honestly say I didn't try it myself many years back! :giggle:
