How do you prepare videos?

Loving YTtalk
So I'd like to know how different people prepare there videos

I come up with an idea and usually just record it and improvise.
But sometimes when I have a big plan (such as my next video) I will story board it to get everything organised and clear up what I want it to do.

What do you guys do? x

I write the story on piece of paper, write the dialogs, develop the audio, shoot my video, use chroma key, render videos, then edit footages and mix with audio! FINALLY UPLOAD!

Mine aren't story based currently, so I just find good camera settings, a good angle, topic of interest, and shoot. I might want to try a few skits or sketches to test out my directing skills. I used to be really good about 15 years ago when doing class projects, for video projects I was always the main one coming up with weird ideas. The teachers always told me to join drama class but I didn't.

For my kind of videos I first play the game, usually to completion, or in any case I clock an amount of time that is enough to get used to everyhting, and understand the most of the game mechanics. Then I write the script, and I usually review it a couple more of times, just in case. Then I record the footage I will use (I try to shouw stuff that has to do with the review script, so that in post production I can sycnhronize them as much as I can). Then I record the voiceover, merge everything, and the video is done

Hi friend! I usually think of an idea and write down a rough script for me to follow, just so I can stay on track but still improvise my dialogue.
Once I record, I put it in the editor and cut it up A LOT. Then I add my intro, transitions and SFX, outro slate, and then the background music.
Once it's exported, I work on the thumbnail!
For my more serious projects, such as the short films and music videos, I obviously have to actually script and plan those out a lot more, get a small crew together, etc. d:

For smaller projects I will usually write down the specific topic I am focusing on, then write down a few points to follow throughout the video, but occasionally choose to improvise.

For larger projects I do tend to write out scripts. Starts with a few points and the idea, turns into a rough script and, then maybe two more versions before the final script is in hand.

Editing a whole different thing though... :D

Due to the nature of my videos, I usually just take the camera out and improvise. I make it my aim to get nice, artistic shots etc. then spend a fair amount of time on editing.

I see you on here a lot and i really like your videos:)[DOUBLEPOST=1430599044,1430598972][/DOUBLEPOST]To prepare my videos, I list all the potential ideas in a list and pick my favourite video idea. I then list all the point I can talk about and potential shots for that (to make it more engaging) the next step it to write my intro and outro to the video and shoot!
