How did this guy do it?

Somebody needs to report the channel of course. From my work in the help forums I can tell that I have seen dozens of channels being terminated for exactly this reason.

Those people weren't careful then. Let me ask you...this channel he linked has been up for a little while. At what point do you 'report' anything? I believe you're allowed to delete videos from your channel any time you want, and also to transfer the channel from one Google plus page to another (and therefore, an entirely new Google account if you wish). On what grounds would Youtube terminate your channel? If you say these types of channels get terminated a lot then I think people are being careless about their process.

Well you would need to offer it to somebody. Anybody who sees this offer and can copy the link to it also can report it to YouTube. YouTube is not really chatty about the measures they take but if I were them I would check the IPs that are used to access the channel, check for email changes and upload rate variations.
Of course the person who builds a successful channel from a bought one has more to risk than somebody who sells it.

That's still careless on their part. The best way to sell a channel is through one of the black hat forums to someone who has a history of good will and will not stab you in the back because he's greedy and wants to profit from the channel. The majority of the time people aren't going to waste their time reporting you...they have nothing to gain from it.

But you know that black hat forums are public and can be read by competitors? Actually they are full of competitors who would love to kick anybody out of their niche.

Of course, but you don't advertise your actual channel unless you're approached by someone who is reputable or who you know from the forums. You just advertise the statistics until a serious inquiry comes along. If you're really concerned about it you can sell the channel based on the stats alone...why would anything else matter? It will be rebranded anyway. You have the buyer place the money in an escrow account/service and the money gets released when you give him the information and transfer the channel.

As I already pointed out I would be more worried as a buyer than I would be as a seller.
Well yeah that makes more sense...but the seller would have to be a real jerk to report a channel after he sold it. That being said, I've never heard of that situation arising, nor have I seen much evidence at all of someone buying a channel and then having it terminated for something the previous owner did. You said you have seen a lot of channel terminations on channels that were artificially built up to sell, and I completely believe you, but I'm having trouble finding anything like that anywhere.

I just watched three random videos on his channel. All super interesting. All I watched until the end. No intro's no outro's. Just great content that I bet he's got killer audience retention on.
