How accessible are your videos?

How do you see the chart I posted which is specifically the screen in YouTube titled "Subtitles & Closed Captioning" and there is a giant increase, which correlates from when I started adding them in and not believe it. That's your proof, it doesn't get any more black and white. Not only that, as of last week my videos were fairly terribly subtitled. As of now, they're perfectly subtitled, they have closed captioning, and I get enjoyment out of knowing that I opened my videos to a new audience of people that may not of been able to watch them otherwise. If you don't want to take the time and do it then don't do it. You have nothing to lose other than time from trying.
There is a reason why YouTube dedicates a section in the content creator bootcamp to subtitles and closed captioning. Don't want to bother? Your loss.

There is no reason to get all defensive. We're all on the same team with many of the same goals. I was just pointing out that correlation does not always equal causation. I'm not even saying it's impossible (you would have to have a lot of volume for people searching for cc videos to make that kind of impact considering the small percentage of people who likely search based on captions). I'm just saying it's unlikely that it's from search. That's all. If you are captioning for other languages then it's possible that the captions somehow had a positive effect on the suggested video algorithm and that that is the case of your recent success. That makes much more sense than from search. Still seems like a short period of time for such a huge increase though.

Sorry but it's hard not to get defensive when it seems like people are dumping on you when you're just trying to help. But anyways, I don't believe there is a way to narrow it down to see if the subtitle and CC views came from search or suggested. The only thing I've found that shows is the screen I posted, which is located at Views>Subtitles and CC>Then the language, so "english" for me.

Now my train of thought is that it doesn't matter if they came from search, or suggested. Increased visibility is increased visibility and all of us, if we want to grow, should be striving for it.

How in the world would you think anything I've said so far was "dumping on you"? We're just having a discussion, that's all. That's what forums are for. If I post about something you disagree with I would expect you to tell me about it.
 
Incidentally, the first screenshot you posted did not say "subtitles and cc". That part was cropped out. I assumed that was a chart of overall views.

No, it was the part that shows the increase in subtitle and CC views only. You get that screen after you would click on "english" like in the screen above.

Yeah, I realize that now that you posted that second screenshot. The first screenshot you didn't mention that the chart and increase was only for the sub and cc category, and the headings were cropped out so I couldn't tell. It made it seem like you were saying that the subs and cc had that kind of effect on your total views.
