Google AdWords is not worth it

Sure, it gives you the views, but it doesn't give you any viewer activity at all. (Likes, comments, subscribers.)
Like, I just tried it for a few hours yesterday and stopped it again. It gave me about 170 views, but I don't want views, I want activity on my videos -_-

On a past channel, I did adwords on a fairly decent video (i thought at least) that was a call to action, subscribe for content, trailer type video. 45 seconds long. The thing got me 3 subscribers in a week, cost me about $15, and I had like 700 impressions (views) on the video from the ad.

I agree, not worth it.

Yeah, Adwords didn't do much for me either, just some extra views on the 2 videos I promoted it with.

No. The opposite.
The regular mortals don't use it or even knows what it is.

They delivered the views. It is up to you to create engaging content that inspires viewers to subscribe and comment.

My experience is that once you find the right targets/keywords, then you will get conversions(subs).
I don't see a huge gain, but what I do is pick my best performing videos, sub wise, and only run those as ads.
