For the Oldies

I know! Do you think it's a good thing or a bad thing? I personally almost think it's a good thing!
I used to hate the *newest* layout, but I've actually grown quite fond of it. For one, it gives mobile users a more respectable view of your channel art, and it's a lot easier to organize.

I agree completely! At first I was against it to, but the only thing I don't like now is being forced to create a Google+ account along with that!

Google+ is an underrated gold mine. There's such a potential to drive massive traffic to your channel/videos if you promote correctly.

Ya, I seem to remember getting like seven views in the first minute of posting a video back then, but then the views would just stop. I think it would have been real easy to make a viral video![DOUBLEPOST=1436987272,1436987231][/DOUBLEPOST]
Does it show your actual username, or just a string of random characters?
Oh, just a random string of numbers. I think I have the option to customize it though, but I'm too lazy to do it.[DOUBLEPOST=1436989436][/DOUBLEPOST]

I got a decent amount of views on Google plus. A majority of these views are views of dog pictures, so I don't have this number of video views just from G+. But yes, if you use it right it can be helpful.

The last channel I registered was in November 2014, so not that long ago, and I got a youtube.com/channelname address. Literally three days later YouTube took away the option to make a custom URL on registration. Phew. :D

Wow. Close call! You can still get one, I believe you have to have at least 500 subscribers to qualify, though.
