Do you use custom thumbnails?

I have finally decided to stop being lazy and started making custom thumbs for each of my videos now. Not as hard as I thought but just another process in the workflow.
 
I am using custom thumbnails from the start so I can't really compare, but I think it is absolutely necessary! The built-in thumbnails usually don't represent my video at all... I add my channel name, some references to the content, a nice frame etc... All to make the thumbnail look more appealing.
 
I had a very boring thumbnail before for one of my videos, but when I updated it and made it more beautiful, the views raised from 263 to 463 now :D
