Do looks really matter??

So, I recently changed from doing gaming to vlogging because it's more fun to make but In this category of videos I noticed that you have to be physically appealing to actually get noticed. I recently experience my best friend (who is very good looking) reach 100 subscribers (Which took me 9 months to get) in a week , not to mention his first video got 3oo views in a day (which is a butt ton for a first video in my opinion) Because of how many girls like him (He does make good content though)

My question is: To what extent does your physical appearance actually matter when it comes to making vlogs?

I've seen many channels where the video maker has absolutely rubbish content (Trust me when I say it is RUBBISH) but because they are really good looking (Not to say they aren't a nice person), they get lots of views.

I wouldn't say looks are everything but they're certainly a huge part of the puzzle. If you're not too attractive you tend to get looked over, just like in real life. Then that's when we unattractive people do the usual 'but you don't even know my personality!'.

So those of us with great ideas and personalities get overlooked for the pretty face. Tis be the way of life.

In fact, a lot of vloggers are complete f*****g unfunny idiots but they get by on their looks (Looking at you, Nash Grier)

If you are a good looking guy / girl you can become successful on Youtube by having good looks + editing + camera skills alone.

I am always surprised that really good looking people out there don't simply start out a Youtube channel. Of course it's good they don't, because if they did we would all be screwed.
