Did you ever make a viral-potential video?

Did you ever make that one favorite viral-potential video that you thought, "this is the schnick that's gonna blow big"? LOL. Why was it your favorite? What feature(s) did you like most about it? Did it go viral?

Pretty sure every video anyone puts out- they all hope it'll go viral lol. Not sure what viral potential even means if it doesn't go viral, then it's not viral...

I am not really sure a video can have 'viral potential'?
Every video has the potential to go viral under the right set of circumstances when you really think about it. It all really depends on what is trending, who shares it, how many people share it but most importantly why they are sharing it.
But to answer the question.

I have had one viral video on my gaming/PC channel - a tutorial that is still ranked at No.1 in the world for that search term. For my second channel, a video tribute to Marvel's The Punisher has done pretty well and under the right circumstances could have gone viral (I just missed out on those circumstances and the timings).

I think of it this way. Every shop sells milk, break, cheese, butter. Those things everyone buys every day. But sometimes there's a product that just flies off the shelf, like a new dessert, or a fancy pizza topping.

So for our channel, many, if not most, of the videos are bread and butter. Sometimes I plan videos with the express desire of them going viral. Squashing the dinosaur toy with the car was one such video. The giant Hello Kitty egg was another.

For something to go viral, from what I've seen, you need to build on an idea already there, but spin it in a unique way. Make it funny, entertaining, different.

As a good example, there were lots of videos with kids dressed as Spiderman and Elsa. Then someone thought, let's make Spiderman pregnant. and let's give Elsa a stomach ache. Those went mega viral.[DOUBLEPOST=1475335872,1475335838][/DOUBLEPOST]

I haven't yet made one but currently in the process of making some that could get a ton of hits. Right now I'm studying other channels on what made them blow up and what they did to get there and focusing on similar topics as them.

I uploaded a car crash video. Which had potential to go big. It never did. You can't tell what goes viral and what doesn't even if it has all the right ingredients.

Growth Hacker Marketing by Ryan Holiday explains that virality is built into products. So I do believe a video can be "viral-potential". Basically there has to be a reason people want to share your video.

If you just make an average gaming video, it probably only has a small chance (if any) of going viral. But if you have something like Leroy Jenkins (a short, funny, over-the-top video with a clear story), people are more likely to share your video and it has a higher chance of going viral.
