Collabs... it's the way to go.

I want to do collabs but the people I'm friends with on youtube live all over the place so it's hard to get to them and vice versa. I don't think there is anyone near me who volgs either so I'm a bit stuck when it comes to collabs.
 
Collabs only work if you're collabing with people who can get you views. (When I say 'work' I mean 'gain you hundreds/thousands of subs')

Joey knows Olga Kay and Exotic Jess quite well, who knows Toby Turner very well.
Tyler Oakley is great friends with Kingsley

... know what I mean? These people have 'big guns' as friends and that's why it worked for them. a 50 sub collabing with a 90 sub however wouldn't have much of an effect either way (unless one of them got larger and the video was found by the larger person's fans)

Ah yeah I forgot to include that. Of course if both parties aren't big channels, it's not going to make a huge difference, but it may still help. Generally the bigger the audience, the more of a chance of it helping.

But yes, I would also feel very awkward. I'm a very shy person, and I only really show my true self in front of people i'm comfortable with. Most of my life I never had very many friends (in person), so my social skills really slack. A lot of people are always like "You're so quiet... You're so not talkitive!" etc. & It's because I don't really have very much social skills.. I don't really know how to act in front of other people lol :/

I think that that's a good thing though, to be honest. :D I LOVE watching collabs or just regular vlogs with awkward people- they're so funny. I think that it's probably the vulnerability that resonates with people.
 
Collabing is an easy thing to visualize, but getting it to happen is impossible. Everyone I've ever asked says "Sure!" then never replies after that. Once I wrote the full script for the both of us and got nothing back. I managed to do one collab and that was almost 3 years ago, in which I had 0 growth. Collabing only seems viable for 2 people who have a substantial audience already.
 
I would love to do a colab but to be truthful would not have the first clue were to start. Is it best to record both people and then just upload.

Do an achievement or just a gameplay ? Or just play and talk about stuff or something else ? whats a good way to do a colab online using the technology we have available ?
