So I've noticed a lot of YouTubers I watch have started to do a lot of collab videos. Maybe it's because of Vidcon recently happening, and a lot of people got time to record with each other, or maybe it's a new trend... whatever the reason, it's working for them.
If you look at JoeyGraceffa's channel, he's been doing a lot of collab videos. If you look at his popular videos tab, almost all of them are collabs. He reached 1M subscribers 2 months ago, and he's already almost to 1.8M subscribers. That's crazy! His views are also increasing, as now they are 200-300k+ each, and I rememember when they were 100-200k each.
Tyler Oakley is a good example of this as well. For every weekday in August, he is doing a collab video. If you look at his stats, he went from averaging 5-7k subscribers a day, to 12-27k subscribers a day. That's a HUGE increase! His views are also increasing as well!
I guess what I'm trying to say with this thread is collabs are a great way to grow your channel. When you collab with someone, viewers from the person you collabed with will most likely go check out your channel, and vise versa. Both channels grow, and benefit from the collab video. Sometimes I wish I lived in LA to be around more YouTubers (Of course I wouldn't be able to work with the big guys, but there is more YouTubers near LA then there is where I live lol). I'm also not a big fan of collabs that you aren't in person for, so I choose not to do those lol.
