Can someone explain why people go mad over dislikes ?

I seriously can't understand the logic behind why everyone gts upset and starts stressing when they get dislikes ? Don't that want their videos to get loads of views ? Because if your content is getting a load of views you are going to get dislikes.

Not everyone likes the same things so someone out there is bound to really not like what your doing. So surely getting dislikes is just letting you know that your content is getting viewed and seen by a larger audience ?

Or am I completely wrong here ? Are we all supposed to like the same things ?
 
I havent gotten many yet, but I suppose I'd be bothered if my video that I spent a lot of time on got a lot of dislikes, but at the same time, isn't it feedback? If a video gets a lot of dislikes, it shows you what NOT to make.. as for dislikes from haters I find it funny... they're too much of a whimp to write a mean comment so they leave a anonymous dislike haha..

I don't think it even tell you what not to make, just take someone like Frankie Boyle, his content gets some of the heaviest hate off of so people that I have ever seen, yet he is an extremely successful comedian. A lot of people who do controversial stuff will rile people up to make them react in that way whilst people who enjoy it usually just enjoy it and not raise a concern.

Personally I'm surprised I don't get half as much hate as I do and there's some things I plan to do that will probably get me some serious hate. But I just thought people who post stuff on the Internet would be in a position where they could deal with criticism and actually expect it. The Internet is a medium where people aren't afraid to share their opinions openly.

It just baffles me everyday when people get upset over a dislike when there really isn't any need to. I've worked jobs where the whole 100 other staff just shunned me for 4 months because I say what ever I want and they got offended to easily.

What did I do about it ?

No it doesn't but a video with loads of views won't have no dislikes on it
 
It's mainly people with not that big of a subscriber base that get "upset" when their videos get dislikes. They want to get a larger subscriber base, and when their videos have more dislikes than likes, then most people wont be obligated to subscribe/view their content. That depends on your opinion of their videos mainly. If you're the type of person that looks at the dislikes and sees there are a lot, so you don't watch the video. If you already have a large subscriber base, then you honestly don't need to care about dislikes. Take Smosh for example. They have over 10 million subscribers. I don't they need to care about dislikes, lol. At any rate, if this offended anyone, i'm sorry. Simply stating my opinion.
