I was wondering what kind of specs/ specific model I should be looking for in a $200 dollar camcorder. I already use an amazing t2i, but it is not mine therefore I can't take it anywhere, or do much with it (seeing it is an expensive piece of hardware). The camcorder will primarily be to go, if I see something interesting. It will not be used for pictures much, mainly video.
Here is what I ABSOLUTELY need in a camcorder:
- 1920 x 1080 video
- Bitrate ATLEAST 24mbps
- 3.5mm microphone jack
- SD Card slot
-Portability
Here are some nice to haves:
-Those flippy turny screens
-Some optical zoom
-The ability to take stills while shooting video
-Weatherproofing, overall ruggedness
-WATERPROOF WOULD BE COOOL
Everything else is undecided. I would prefer to buy it in person, at Best Buy, Walmart, Future Shop, Source, or something of the sort (I live in Canada). Do you guys have any recommendations for models or specifications I should be looking for (for a camcorder under $350)? I probably will buy this near boxing day. Thanks!
