Camcorder Price?

CramBoom

Classy Science
I was wondering what kind of specs/ specific model I should be looking for in a $200 dollar camcorder. I already use an amazing t2i, but it is not mine therefore I can't take it anywhere, or do much with it (seeing it is an expensive piece of hardware). The camcorder will primarily be to go, if I see something interesting. It will not be used for pictures much, mainly video.

Here is what I ABSOLUTELY need in a camcorder:
- 1920 x 1080 video
- Bitrate ATLEAST 24mbps
- 3.5mm microphone jack
- SD Card slot
-Portability

Here are some nice to haves:
-Those flippy turny screens
-Some optical zoom
-The ability to take stills while shooting video
-Weatherproofing, overall ruggedness
-WATERPROOF WOULD BE COOOL

Everything else is undecided. I would prefer to buy it in person, at Best Buy, Walmart, Future Shop, Source, or something of the sort (I live in Canada). Do you guys have any recommendations for models or specifications I should be looking for (for a camcorder under $350)? I probably will buy this near boxing day. Thanks!

hmm with all of that I'm not sure at that price unless it was second hand, maybe in the amazon warehouse perhaps, you could try a dslr, they are, well in my opinion, able to go much further than camcorders for price, although camcorders have a big zoom advantage :)

I have a DSLR for home shooting, but can't take it anywhere.

Pretty high standards for $200. You can get a pretty good one for $350+
I don't think you would get all of that for that price, my camera was £200 and it had much less than what you want...sorry
What do you think I should skimp out on for the price range? I could do $350 maybe. I'm not sure yet.

I would recommend you saving up a budget for $300. I have several Sony cameras that are under that price point.

Ok, I'm not in dire need of a camcorder at the moment, its just I've had great filming opportunities with only my old 854x480p camera.
