Blue yeti. Too sensitive?

I got my blue yeti today (yay) and the microphone boom, which was the wrong piece (naaay).
Anywhoo...

For the moment I have to use the mic. On the pc desk, right in front of my keyboard. This means the closest I can get to it is 25cm, and then the keyboard is about the same distance away from it.

But still it picks up the key presses very easily, even if the gain is set to the lowest. (And the mic. Is set to only pick up sounds in front of it).

Any suggestions?
 
The reason it's picking these key presses is because it's on your desk and it's getting vibrations from the key presses, you can either move it on to a stand off your desk or get a shock mount. maybe noise removal and noise gates?
 
Yeah... I dont have the luxury of a mixer.
Also. It picks up the sound from the xbox controller very easilty (Once again, gain is on lowest) even if the controller is beneath the table.

Have you changed the pattern at all? Set it to 3rd setting. Cardoid I believe it is. So it only picks up sound coming from the front of the microphone. I use a blue yeti and I have no issues with it picking up background noise despite it sitting next to a keyboard.

I did read about that, and I thought I had put it to that settings (It is the 2nd from top on the box, so I thought it was the second option on the microphone...

Wow... It is always the simplest mistakes that are overlooked.[DOUBLEPOST=1401805800,1401805105][/DOUBLEPOST]It is definetly better. But I will most likely need a mount for it.

Having a mount similar to the PSA1 I can say they work perfect, but make sure to keep the clamp away from your keyboard if your clamping it to your main desk. :)
 
I bought a pop filter for mine to drown out lower level sounds.

You can find 'em on Amazon for pretty cheap! :up2:

I have one.
And Amazon didnt want to send me one when I tried to order one there. I had to pay around 30$.
