BBTV Partnership

Hello, in past days i have got contacted by BBTV recruiter if i would like to be partner with them, that sounded cool and i wanted to accept it, so he sent me contract and i signed there, its for 1 year,

But i still did not accepted the invitation on dashboard because i read a lot of negative posts about BBTV, lot of people said, that when they were in partnership with Youtube, they used to make more money..

So im thinking of declining that, although i have signed on a contract which is for 1 year and i still didnt accepted their invitation on dashboard, am i still allowed to decline it?

If you've signed the contract and sent it back, you've signed to be in partnership with them for that period meaning you will have to accept otherwise they could in turn take legal action against you for declining.
At least that's how I think it goes, best person to ask would be @Shane.C

The signed contract is the legal document that is binding unless there is section in that agreement that states that dashboard invitation is part of the agreement.

If you've signed the contract, then you're already under their control.
I wouldn't recommend joining BBTV nor TGN.
They have low requirements and low payouts. They simply farm the peasants.

One of the few positive things I can say of them is that they, in my experience, have a pretty good technical partner support, and you can easily get your questions answered by mail. Other than that, you won't have any signific advantage at all, and would be better of as indie or under another network. You can request to ditch out, but you're most likely stuck for a year.

What if it didn't say anything about dashboard invitation at all, couldn't that mean that you could just not accept the invite? lol I'm curious to know as it sounds like a little bit of a loophole, to me the contract would have to state either clause like "contract is void if dashboard invitation is not accepted by content creator" and "content creator must accept dashboard invite to avoid breach of contract" as an example?

@WolfWraith

You can keep looking for loopholes. The contract doesn't have to state s**t about anything. The contract IS THE CONTRACT.

Period.

Legal. Binding.

Make sure you read the contract again and see what you need to do in order to not be rolled into another period when that year is up.

Yeah but that's what I'm asking about, I know it's a contract but if it doesn't state that you have to accept dashboard invitation can't you just not accept it? To me it just wouldn't seem like a breach of contract if it wasn't stated at all, like the contract would obviously still be binding but to what extent? And now that I think about it, shouldn't it also state when the invitation has to be accepted? I dunno it just sounds odd to me, like signing a contract without anything to enforce the dashboard invitation, it just sounds ambiguous to me (I could be having a blonde moment, that's a possibilty too). On a side note, do networks like BBTV actually do anything if someone breaches the contract? Sorry for all the questions, I figured I'd ask here since we're on the topic of contracts xD

so you blindly sign a legally binding contract without reading it.......

For the practical side, no network is going to sue a small channel for not accepting the dashboard link. Yes, it's a binding contract however breach of contract laws are based primarily on the damages that would be incurred and if you're only worth a pittance or even a few hundred dollars a year, it's not worth the time of a lawyer to try to take you to court. Ignore it, move on with your life and stop being stupid doing your research about a network AFTER you've signed a contract.

You have a problem with definitions. Binding is binding. There are no degrees, it is black and white. They have the signed contract, they will have your YouTube CMS under their control.

I don't know if you can or want to start another channel. I stick to my agreements because I'm a person of integrity.
