A post got me, I am almost certain now that is what I want to do as a part-time or even a full time job, will it happen? If I try hard enough and believe yes.

Here is my list...
YouTube:

What I want: I want to reach 500,000 subscribers, I want to have 100,000 views per video, I want to have 1,000 comments per video. I wan to have 2,500 likes per video.

How will I do this? Upload consistantly, have good quality, be entertaining, get good equitment, lighting, graphics, get a gaming set up.

What can I do to meet this goal?
- Edit
- Upload 1 video every day
- Have consistany
- SHOW I am interested.
- Show that I CAN do this and I don't care who tries to stop me.
- Get equitment.
- Get lighting.
What can I do TODAY?
Upload, be happy, consistent uploading. Show I am happy for what I do!

You keep to those goals and keep those thoughts and it may very well happen for you :) I can only hope your dreams and wishes come true, keep up the good work :)

Goals like that are setting you up for disappointment. Try setting minor goals if you set them at all. Or have a bigger goal, with a few mini goals thrown in. Example: I want to hit 1k, then 5k, then 10k, then 50k, then 100k, then 500k. Pretty much a tier system to give you little boosts of motivation along the way to a larger goal. I personally don't set goals, I just kinda get happy when I reach a level of quality that I can be proud of.

If you wish for it to be a job then you are going to have a bad time.
was just answering questions off a post, it said, dream big, don't think about possibilities, it's just a wish/dream so it's not like i'm in it thinking that i'll make thousands, I make 10 cents XD[DOUBLEPOST=1453669591,1453669522][/DOUBLEPOST]

I know, it was just my main goal, yeah I will celebrate even if I get to 1,000, if I ever do, i'll crap bricks :D

It's great to have goals, and those are really lofty goals, but a lot of it is completely out of your control. Maybe rephrasing some of those goals, like saying that you will improve your craft in making videos, and engage with your audience, and become the type of YouTuber who would could conceivably have a huge fan base is a better way to approach it?

I see a bunch of people here who get really discouraged by the small number of viewers they have and want to give up because they aren't making it big, so I do worry that getting all wrapped up in the number of people who watch your videos might be setting yourself up for disappointment.

yeah, I agree completly :)

To those of you telling OP the goals are too big...

Yes high goals can lead to high disappointment. But without setting that goal or dream, how can you ever reach it? Let him dream and hope. If we all are just happy and strive to be a small time nobody, you will stay there. Push yourself and make every video better than your previous, reach high.
