Youtube SEO...

I do all my own graphics!
I know there is a thread about this already but... about the change that Youtube made sometime around OCtober 15, 2013. It's so horrible. You have videos that are coming up on search that are years old--like 5+ years old-- and at the top of the search.

This is not in all cases, of course, but for the most part the changes they made have crippled most small channels. It's a shame.

Yes, it's a shame.

I still have 2-3 views a day on some of the videos I'm producing instead of the normal 20-30. But at least I know 2-3 people are watching it so it's not a waste. Would be nice if more did but this means that I have 2-3 people who are constantly watching my daily content. :D I don't want to let them down D:

Google is changing their search algorithms all the time and just like the design and all other kinds of changes it only cripples one kind of channels - the ones that keep whining about change instead of trying to understand how the new stuff works. Every change is an opportunity for small channels to be among the first who master the new rules and to get ahead of the others...

This is true. I am trying to learn this system early since I'm fortunate to not understand the current 1. But my brain is not cooperating so well as usual lol

Well I'm not whining about it. I actually know quite a lot thing or two about this and I've already made my own changes, so I'm way ahead of a lot of other people out there.

That's not to say that it's not a shame that Google seems to be effortlessly pushing small channels out of the way.

EDIT: On a separate note: I don't want to learn a freaking smokey eye makeup tutorial from 3 YEARS ago... What the heck? Fashion changes people!!

So what do we need to do differently to adapt to the new system?
By the looks of we need to fork out money to study a course lol At least that's my result from the researching I've been trying to do. So far a lot of people are saying hummingbird and new YouTube SEO is all about querys instead of keywords but it's still early days to see the effects. I've been trying for near 30mins and it's already doing my head in. Doesn't help when I try to google YouTube SEO and it keeps giving me YouTube videos of people either advertising new SEO courses for money or people talking about the new SEO but not stating what we have to do lol
