YouTube Play Button Award

To quality for the YouTube silver play button, you need 100,000 subscribers. It also says, "In addition to subscriber count, we use a variety of signals to determine which channels qualify for rewards, including but not limited to views and watch time." I uploaded a viral video and it got over 13 million views in around a month, and I've gotten 31,000 subscribers in the past month. I don't get that many views on my new videos I upload (minecraft gameplays) but I think the viral video is what's getting me all the subscribers. If I reach 100,000 subscribers, could I still qualify for the award?

I thought it was pretty much just based on your subscirber # So you should get it if you reach 100,000. That would be really cool! :)

Yes, you should be eligible to receive a milestone award. YouTube's verification procedure is mostly to prevent people who botted their way up to 100,000 subscribers from receiving a Play Button.

you should, they mention the other stuff just to make sure you make real content, and aren't sub 4 subbing your way to 100,000 which wouldn't be legitimate. basically just making sure you gained those subs from your videos :)

I think they say that just to add the disclaimer that those "100k subs with no videos" channels are technically ineligible for the award despite having the sub number. Basically, you need to be a legit channel. I think you'd be fine when you hit that number.

It's not an automatic 100k subscribers and boom youtube ships a plaque to you. I am sure there is a real human looking into a channel when reaches 100k to see that you are making videos and not just uploading family guy clips.

What do you mean by that? Because as I already said, I uploaded a video and it went viral (14 million views) the video was basically a compilation of funny videos. Do you think I can still get the plaque, as long as the views, watch time, and everything else is legitimate? (which it is)
