Youtube partnership?

I am not fully aware about what happens when you want to be a partner with YouTube, what happens and also, when should you consider doing so. For future reference.
 
All that went out in 2012. So Full YouTube Partnership dosen't exist. They only do Monetization; Which EVERYONE can access. Though I was lucky enough to become a full partner with YouTube before all of that ended. So now I'm and other actual YouTube partners are now known as a Legacy Partners.

If you want to be full partner, you'd need to join a network.
 
Fullscreen partner here and what the above user is saying is correct and you have to have your account in good standing and as far as i know the other features start to kick in and visit your youtube settings page from time to time and see what im talking about make sure you verify your mobile # to become a verifed youtube partner.
 
Becoming a 'partner' with YouTube now enables you to link an associated website to your channel which can be used in annotations, get custom thumbnails sooner, monetize your videos with AdSense and appeal rejected Content ID disputes. I recommend doing this as soon as possible, as you don't need to link AdSense if you don't want to and you get these extra features. All it takes is one click ;)

To become a full partner you'll have to meet a networks requirements, sign a legally-binding contract and allow them to take a cut of your earnings.
