Posting Mad!
Is it good for gaming channels to sign up fpr youtube partnership or wait till a gaming partnership

I want to use the youtube partnership for thumbnails but I heard you cant go with a network afterwards

Wrong area, friend. You can sign up with a Network if you are a YouTube partner. Wherever you got that information they are wrong. As for question I'll let someone with a gaming channel handle that. :)

Youtube partnership doesnt really mean a partner anymore. Basically everyone and their dog can get youtube partnership, but you really shouldnt monetize gaming videos till you have a GAMING NETWORK PARTNER. They will handle the legalities for you in most cases. If you monetize your gameplay just by being a youtube partner, you will likely be taken out back of your home and shot by a man with a large moustache, a tidy poncho and a Youtube hat.

Gaming channels should not self monetise. It's pretty much a sure fire way to get a copyright strike.
Really? I'm an adsense monetized gaming channel and I've never had a single copyright strike. I've had a few false Content ID claims for music but not for my games (now admittedly YouTube is being a poo-poo head with my new SimCity video, despite the fact that EA has told me it's ok for me to monetize my video ... *sigh*).

Just because you didn't get a strik doesn't make it right. If you don't have the rights to monetize game videos than you cannot monetize them, A network normally gives you the rights for it. "few false Content ID claims for music" than they're not false content ID claims.

Not all games. Minecraft, League of Legends and as you say SimCity: fine. Any other game is too risky.
