You can also get livestreaming when you are partnered. I already have it enabled for a while. You had to contact your network and ask for it and they enable it.
It's 360p But when you get populair on your livestreams you can ask for better quality or something. Wasn't sure anymore.

You can still livestream a google hangout to your youtube account if the account is verified

I can live stream in 1080p! I think if you've been with youtube for long enough they'll give it to you without the 1000 subs! For some reason I always get all the features as soon as they come out!?!?!? Maybe google loves me!!

google "wirecast for youtube" (it's free) and that will live stream the event when you have it all set up! (you can't livestream directly from youtube :-( )

Hmm if I have to use another site, then I would just use the hangout on air.

Yeah, you can always just go for a hangout instead. No need for a partnership or a certain number of subscribers.
