Youtube just isn't youtube anymore.

Look at youtubers like smosh, youtube is where YOU make videos yourself. Smosh have a production team. How is that youtube anymore? And vevo, remember when users uploaded music videos? Does anyone else have the same opinion?

Eh, YouTube is just growing with the times. People are able to get production teams to make short films and skits. There are plenty of people who rely on other people while makig videos at times. Smosh is one of the big guys, and they both are really into acting and such. They get to do it without struggling through Hollywood and such, and to me that's just plain epic.

Hey, if your succesful why stop? I just think it's a big corporation now instead of a fun website.

Oh yeah, ever since google took it over they've been frothing out the mouth for money, but focusing on the creators, I think it's stronger than ever before. (minus how frequently people are partnered now- but that's a different subject all together)

YouTube is a site to share video's. Whether that be with a production team or not. It's allways been that way. It's not about making the videos yourself, it's about sharing the videos to everybody. YouTube has been around for 8 years, you're bound to get people with production teams and expensive cameras, especially when they are the top of the youtube charts. It's been happening for years... I don't know why you are just now seeing it. Some YouTubers use youtube as a way to grow their acting or filming experience to move to bigger and better things. As YouTube grows, the people that make it up is going to grow.

& The thing about the music videos... There should be channels that upload music videos, because we don't own the rights to upload them. If everyone had the rights to upload music videos, you'd have everyone uploading them to rack in views/subs.

So no, I don't have the same opinion as you.

Smosh and RWJ NEED production teams to be able to produce content of this quality frequently. When you are creating content on such a high level like Smosh and RWJ, these things are required.[DOUBLEPOST=1367080477,1367080388][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ray William Johnson is starting his acting Career now, in Hollywood, because YouTube got him to where he is today. Sure, heaps of people don't like him.. BUT, he is a perfect example of people utilizing YouTube as a way to gain experience in acting/filming. I'm pretty sure he is currently filming/directing his own movie "Riley Rewind" to.. But still, the point is exactly the same.

Exactly. iJustine has been on some tv shows, Shane Dawson & Toby Turner have been in movies, John Green has his books in stores, Daxflame was in movies, PrankVsPrank have been on tv... that's just all I can think of. Plenty of youtubers use youtube as a way to grow and start their career.

today's youtube is all about entertainment for the viewers, if a production team helps that happen why not? I'ts not like viewers can only watch one person. Sometimes if you watch a larger youtuber and a few smaller ones at the same time it gives a good mix of personalities and approach. Big youtubers create an audience for smaller ones to strive for and pull from! win win to me.
