Youtube is killing itself

I used to love to use youtube as my personal tv. I could watch things by creators I wanted to see. See what others were watching, and see what others were uploading easily. Now, I get recommended videos I've already seen, I get videos on my "what to watch" page that are days or weeks old, and now youtube is sneaking their own videos into links that used to take you to your youtube "what to watch" page. I can understand why youtube doesn't show videos as they are uploaded anymore, but why is youtube Charts something hard to get to on the site? Instead we have this lame "browse" feature. If we can have both, fine, but why replace charts with the crappy browse feature? My subscriptions have lately been using youtube as a place to post announcements about what they are going to be doing on twitch tv. Does youtube even notice that they are going to be the next myspace if they dont stop messing up the features of the site that people enjoy? If they are hosting videos, but don't provide a nice place to view those videos, we might as well watch the videos embeded somewhere else. I'm just going on because it seems like youtube is not giving me anything I want, and just taking things away that I liked. How do you feel about it?

We have quite a few threads about this, and I did a very intense rant on it when they switched to the new layout. Tell me about twitch TV, I've been looking for a back up plan. Oh and welcome to the forum, I like you already from this post haha

twitch.tv is a livestreaming site(primarily for gamers) that when you have finished livestreaming it keeps a copy of your stream saved on there servers so you can rewatch any stream you have done before, it is, in my opinion a great site and maybe the best for livestreaming but because pretty much everything is recorded live it is not really a replacemet for youtube. for that i would check out blip.tv. while not as popular they do give creators a bigger revenue cut and it is the site people who run there own websites(angry joe, thatguywiththeglasses, spoony experiment) choose to embed onto there sites when making videos.

Not a fan of the new layout for obvious reasons. Pretty much agree with everything you said but i guess i can live with it D:
 
What some people fail to realize is that the largest monetized platform for media sharing in the world is Youtube. People hate on change, and in fact EVERYONE cant like change. What the SMART would do, is to analyze the way the content is shared across the platform and ADAPT to the change rather than being an advocate for hate. What do you think the first generations of youtubers had to do? The platform was much different then than it is now. Im not saying personally whether i like or hate the new youtube layout. Im just speaking from an unbiased outside standpoint looking to start a conversation. ;)

I was gonna really respond to this, but whatever you're my friend and I don't want to start anything. But don't act like this is "just another layout change" They are doing everything they can outside of completely removing small channels from youtube, to get the small channels overlooked, and if this doesn't make you mad... I'll just stop there.
 
sooo many threadsss...... yes it sucks but all we can do is leave them feedback lol. Soon there will be more youtube layout complaint video's than mincraft video's.... ok thats not even possible but just saying haha

that's not ALL we can do. We need to make a positive discussion thread, look at the pros and cons, figure out how to use these features to our advantage and get around the hurdles. That's my vote anyway.
