youtube is getting over run by gamers

Well, since YouTube is half video, half audio, playing a game and recording over it is much simpler. Someone else already made the visuals, you just have to use the engine. That's why I think it attracts so many people. Also, the viewer retention gaming channels have bumps them up in the YouTube rankings, so gamers make up a lot of the top YouTubers.

Well like I said in my introduction, my first channel was a music channel, the only thing posted was me performing. (I saw an old video of me... god I was like 14 then? lol).

I've since migrated and created a gaming channel.
Vloging and gaming channels are two different beasts, so you can't compare which is easier or not. To be found at all on youtube as a gaming channel is much harder in some respects then vloggers. While you don't have to worry about your physical appearance with gaming videos, you do have to worry about having the ability to record high quality content. That comes from having a great personality in a video and having the system specs to be able to record these videos.
The same goes for the tech for video recording. You can either record on a garbage webcam, or you can record on a HD cam.

I digress, all I have to say is that they are two different beasts.

Yeah I mean it's not a bad thing to be a gamer, there's nothing wrong with it and some gamers are really good at what they do. But it's still as popular as it is largely because of how much is already done for you. Your job is to play and talk, edit and make interesting/funny. You don't have to create the games or map out the games or create the art for them or anything like that, instead of having to come up with an idea out of thin air, you have to figure out which game to play.

nah nah!

It depends on what kind of gamer your talking about, if you think pewdiepie then yeah your right. If you think more like bohemianeagle, or my channel, there is indeed writers block. Sure not in the lets plays, but not everything gamers do are lets plays. You gotta think about what your gonna talk about in most videos if your not going for cheep commentary. Some ideas are weeks in planning for our channel.
